Colloidal oatmeal
Oatmeal is a recognised treatment for dermatitis, burns, inflamed, itchy and sensitive skin. Scientists have been able to identify the key active ingredients within oatmeal which contributed to effective healing of the skin, protection from lipid peroxidation (dryness), relief from itching, alleviate redness and reduce inflammation.
In 2003 colloidal oatmeal was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration [FDA] for use as a skin protectant – it is one of the few botanical ingredients considered as an effective skin protectant by the FDA. That’s a pretty big deal because the FDA don’t just going around approving botanical ingredients willy nilly. The FDA’s stamp of approval means that there are a lot of studies that conclusively show oatmeal benefits your skin. Don’t be fooled, this doesn’t mean you can go buy any old oatmeal based skincare – they are not all created equal. DermaLab contain active levels of oatmeal – so you know your skin is getting a good dose of the good stuff !

Our very own kiwiana pot of gold – manuka honey is indigenous to New Zealand made from the nectar of the flowers that grow on the Manuka plant. All honeys have positive humectant (moisture attracting) properties. Manuka honey punches above its weight by also having natural antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties. All good things for active acne or dry cracked skin.
