Active Ingredients:
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is an antioxidant-rich super vitamin for hair, skin and nails as it assists in the formation and production of collagen. The antioxidant properties also reduce the formation of free radicals, minimising their ageing effects on the body.
Vitamin C is a required component in the production of hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine, both of which are crucial for binding the molecules that form collagen. The vitamin targets pigmentation, brightens skin and helps to reduce the visible signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C increases the formation of elastin, which thickens, protects, and heals skin cells.
Biotin
Biotin plays an important role in the health of the skin. Skin is constantly exposed to harsh environmental elements, which damages the surface cells and causes them to die. Biotin helps produce and distribute fatty acids in the skin, which is crucial for the constant production of new skin cells for healthy, glossy skin.
Biotin also has anti-glycation benefits as it’s needed for the body to process glucose and can help improve blood glucose levels.
Chromium
Chromium, an essential trace mineral, works synergistically with Biotin for anti-glycation benefits as they help improve serum glucose and lipid levels.
Chromium plays a role in the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates through its impact on insulin. The mineral specifically improves the signalling action of insulin, lowering the amount of sugar that is left to circulate in the bloodstream. Together, chromium and biotin can enhance glucose disposal and glycogen synthesis.
Curcumin
Curcumin, a medicinal compound extracted from turmeric, nourishes the skin, giving it a natural, youthful glow. It contains potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can help boost the body’s defences against oxidative stress to prevent cell damage, enhance collagen deposition and promote wound healing. Curcumin also plays a role in preventing glycation as the compound helps regulate blood sugar levels to support glycaemic control.
Curcumin's anti-ageing properties help prevent and improve skin wrinkles, dehydration and pigmentation whilst reducing skin inflammation and blemishes.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble, essential nutrient that’s critical for beautiful skin. It contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which combat the effects of free radical damage, stopping it from damaging the lipids in the skin’s cell membranes. Additionally, Vitamin E supports the immune system, cell function, hair growth and may help reduce UV damage to the skin.
Magnesium
Magnesium plays an integral role in over 300 metabolic processes and supports the adrenal system. The nutrient is essential for enzymes that regulate DNA replication and repair.
Magnesium targets the underlying causes of skin conditions like acne by lowering cortisol levels, stabilising hormonal imbalances and improving cellular processes. Unfortunately, the nutrient depletes with age and stress, and without it, the skin is left defenceless against free radical damage and inflammation.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3 that contains anti-glycation, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The nutrient boosts cellular energy and regulates an enzyme that’s critical for DNA repair as well as peptides that promote inflammation. Niacinamide also helps balance blood sugar levels, reduces skin sensitivity and helps the skin maintain its normal barrier function for improvements in skin tone and texture.
Additionally, niacinamide inhibits glycation by reducing the amount of cross-linked collagen and elastin molecules that are deposited in the skin as they damage the elasticity of the skin and contribute to skin sallowness.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 is essential for red blood cell development, cell production and protein metabolism, which is key for skin cell growth and repair. The vitamin also helps reduce the formation of AGEs, regulate hormone shifts and decrease inflammation. By slowing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, Vitamin B6 helps delay the ageing process and promotes clear, healthy skin.
Kakadu Plum
The native Australian superfood is full of bioactive and medicinal properties. Kakadu Plum is the richest source of Vitamin C in the world with 3000 mg of Vitamin C per 100g of fruit. Polyphenols within the plant act as antioxidants to fight free radicals and prevent cell damage. Together, Kakadu Plum and Niacinamide synergistically strengthen the skin’s natural defences against environmental aggressors.
The plant also contains trace minerals and antioxidants including vitamin E, zinc, iron, folate and lutein, which all nourish skin, invigorate it and help prevent premature ageing. Antioxidants work to detoxify and flush out toxins from the body, which is why the plum is particularly beneficial for blemish-prone skin. Kakadu Plum is also rich in phytochemicals, which have potent anti-carcinogenic, anti-fungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.
ZINC
Zinc is vital for a healthy complexion. The mineral is required for collagen synthesis, which is essential for healing skin wounds and maintaining supple, hydrated skin. When taken internally, zinc provides antioxidants that neutralise free radicals and promote clear, youthful skin.
